Tricep Stretch - Pull And Lengthen!

Doing a tricep stretch is important to help prevent muscle tears from working out your tricep muscles.

The tricep muscles are already quite neglected, since many people prefer training their biceps. Do not make the same mistake when it comes to flexibility exercises.

You will be rewarded when your motions are better, you feel less pain after workouts and you don't sustain any injuries!

Stretches You Can Learn

  • Overhead stretch

  • Over shoulder stretch

The two stretches here are rather similar. Don't be deceived though, they help to train different parts of your tricep muscles.

Overhead Stretch

  • Place your right hand on your back, exactly in the middle of your shoulders. Make sure your elbow is pointing towards the ceiling.

  • Place your left hand on your right elbow and gently pull your elbow towards your head, until you feel a nice stretch.

  • Hold the stretch for 10 seconds.

  • Repeat the stretch, now placing your left hand in the middle of your shoulders.

Over Shoulder Stretch

  • Place your right hand over your left shoulder.

  • Place your left hand on your right elbow and gently push the elbow towards your neck, until you feel a stretch.

  • Hold the position for 10 seconds.

  • Repeat this stretch for your left hand.

Pretty straightforward right? While there may only be 2 stretching exercises listed here, it does not mean that it is not enough. As long as you make sure that you take some time to sufficiently stretch your muscles, you are well-ahead of many others who don't.

Regular stretching is important to ensure that your muscle grows, and to lessen discomfort during and after your workouts. After all, two minutes of stretching will not kill you.
