Peanut butter and jelly sandwich has always been a staple for many Americans. However, recently, this sandwich is fast growing to be more popular in other parts of the world as well. In Asia for example, people have been eating them without realizing it.
The reason being, they do not know that jelly actually refers to jam spreads. Therefore, they eat this tasty snack without ever knowing that it was the famous PB 'n' J (the famous acronym given for the sandwich).
The reason for this is because highly processed ones tend to contain more saturated fat that is responsible for clogging up arteries. If this becomes worse, it will lead to various cardiovascular related illnesses, like heart attack and stroke.
Peanut butter contains quite a fair bit of protein and carbohydrates. The protein goes a long way in building healthy looking skin, eyes and stronger muscles while carbohydrates give you energy to work throughout the day.
This is why you tend to crave for peanut butter and jelly sandwich from time to time. When you are tired or lack energy, this can give you a pretty good boost during midday.
Directions
Take one slice of bread and generously spread peanut butter on it. On the other slice, spread jelly. Be careful not to overdo it as the jelly can spill when you're eating if you add too much.
Gently press both slices together and enjoy this delicious snack!
