French Toast Recipe - Simple, Tasty And Wonderfully Healthy!

French toast recipe is surprisingly simple and yet exceptionally delicious! You could whip them up for breakfast or as a protein-packed snack anytime of the day.

The traditional form of recipe basically involves dipping a slice of bread into an egg mixture and frying it until golden brown. However, some people have gone forth and made improvements to this recipe.

Some choose to add a dash of milk, while others add a pinch of cinnamon for additional flavour, or to combat the scent of eggs which can be overwhelming for some individuals.

Due to the fact that this dish involves eggs, some people have the opinion that it should be avoided at all costs. Therefore, I'll repeat myself: eggs are good for you. Don't separate the yolk!

There is a reason why nature came up with the egg. As long as you do not consume more than 2 eggs per day, it is fine. It is extremely healthy as well, as eggs contain high levels of choline for proper brain function and protein for the skin and muscles.

Benefits Of Milk

Our parents told us that milk is good of us and we should always have a glass of it each day. However, have you ever wondered why is milk beneficial for us?

A great source of calcium

We all know that milk contains a great deal of calcium, which is responsible for strong bones and teeth. However, do keep in mind that it is not enough to simply drink gallons and gallons of milk.

You need to combine it with exercise. When you wear your bones from jogging or engaging in sports, it tells your body to absorb the calcium and rebuild your bones. This makes them stronger and more resistant to wear and tear.

When you are inactive, your body simply expels the calcium from your body. This leads to an increase in the chance of suffering from osteoporosis. Exercise is of paramount importance and I hope that you keep that in mind.

Supplements your body with protein

Milk also contains protein that is important for your body. Every single part of your body requires protein. Skin needs protein to regenerate its cells. Muscles need them to grow and repair themselves.

Without protein, cells die. This means that if you deny your body of protein, you could die.

Milk can prevent hypertension

Research has found that milk can help to prevent hypertension. Scientists are also conducting studies to see whether regular consumption of milk will help prevent and lessen the risk of other chronic illnesses as well.

French Toast Recipe


  • 2 eggs
  • 4 tablespoon of low-fat milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 2 slices of wholemeal bread
  • Olive oil


Heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Beat the eggs together with the milk, salt and cinnamon powder. Make sure that the mixture is well-mixed and doesn't have clumps of powder in them.

Dip one slice of the bread and make sure that both sides are well coated with the mixture. Fry the bread, turning it over several times until both sides are golden brown.

Repeat this for the other slice of bread. Serve warm.

Tip: The cinnamon powder is strictly optional. If you find that the sweet cinnamon taste affects the taste of the eggs, you can forego it. It doesn't matter.
