What is the best abdominal exercise? This is a question that many of us have asked ourselves before. You might think that good-looking abs only come from intense workouts and spending money on equipment that you see on infomercials.

The truth is: the best abdominal exercise you can do are exercises that help to burn fat!

A lean midsection is every person's dream, and it is relatively easy to achieve it! Every single one of us has abdominal muscles. What makes the abs defined and visible is the amount of fat covering it.

I Shall Run Like Crazy!

We have been told before that aerobic or doing cardio will help burn the fat. Therefore, a lot of people go running, walking, swimming and while some might see results, it is not fantastic.

Yes, doing aerobic activities will burn fat, but there is something else that we have forgotten.

The forgotten fact is that muscles are the best fat-burning factories in our bodies! This means that while running can help burn fat, if you focus on doing some strength training exercises, you're on your way to getting that sexy midsection.

The best abdominal exercise is actually a combination of aerobic and strength exercises.

A Picture Paints A Thousand Words

Think of a bodybuilding competition you have seen. Every single participant had rippling midsections. The reason is because they work hard to reduce their body fat. With a low amount of body fat, muscles shine through. Their rock hard abdominal muscles will take the spotlight.

If you are still doubtful, I have another example to highlight to you. On a day by the beach, you could keep an eye out for individuals who are underweight. Quite often (but not always), they would sport abs, because their bodies have little body fat!

An Attractive Waistline Can Be Achieved!

You now know that you do not have to spend money on exercise equipment to have Herculean-like abs. Sometimes they turn out to be nothing but a gimmick!

The best abdominal exercise is the easiest one to do. On one day, take some time to run around your neighbourhood. You could even go swimming. On another day of the week, spend some time doing strength exercises. Perhaps lunges to work those thigh muscles or bicep curls for your arms!

I might seem repetitive, but please remember that you cannot simply tone one area of your body. If you want to have abs that will attract looks from others, you need to work on losing weight from your ENTIRE body.

You can burn that stubborn fat off by having a nice balance of aerobics and strength exercises. Keep that in mind! :D

Can You Neglect Your Midsection?

NO!

Never stop doing regular exercises for the abs as these workouts help strengthen and tone your muscles even further. After all, you would want to sport rock-hard abs, don't you? :D I am sure you do.

I also want you to promise to remember the golden rule. Exercise and proper nutrition go hand in hand. You can do intense cardio and complete repetitions of various strength exercises, but if you do not watch what you eat, you will be disappointed.
